You are wondering if simply buying a VGA to HDMI connector is possible. Well, I have to be honest with you here; converting VGA to HDMI is no small feat. You can convert from VGA to DVI because DVI is analog, but because HDMI is digital, it makes it all somewhat complicated.
However, I haven’t said that it is totally impossible, but you might require some help if you are not technically sufficient to handle the task ahead of you, if you know what I mean. Generally, what you need to do is install a signal converter halfway between your monitor and the source of the video. Hard stuff? Don’t worry, you are up to the task, besides, the end will be worth the while. You will need to get a VGA to HDMI Audio Video Converter, HDMI cable and VGA cable.

Okay, now take the VGA to HDMI Audio Video Converter and plug its power supply to a compatible electric socket. Now, take your monitors HDMI cable and plug it between your monitor and the VGA to HDMI Audio Video Converter’s HDMI port. You should find this port opposite the electrical input socket. I hope you are following so far, otherwise, go back and ensure that you have adhered to the instructions thus far before proceeding.
Ready?
Now, plug the VGA cable between your computer’s VGA output port and the VGA to HDMI Audi Video Converter’s VGA to the input port. This port is on the same side you connected the power supply into.
Finally, turn on your PC and check; your VGA to HDMI Audio Video Converter should be transmitting signals to your monitor if you followed the steps adequately.
However, you must know that because the connection you just did is not the prescribed way to enjoy high definition transmission, you should not expect a hundred percent output or quality from the connection. A VGA connection cannot transmit enough bandwidth; however, it will work, but not as you would want it or enjoy it. So, don’t feel bad that you might not have followed through on the instructions; it is not your fault that the video quality is not good enough. A better option will be to purchase a single converter that will convert analog RGB to digital video format, but the y may cost you some money. Another option would be for you to get a new laptop with HDMI features. This will guaranty you all the functions and features available for high definition visual and audio display by converting VGA to HDMI.
